Book lovers explored their dreams with CNR Book Fair

The long-awaited event by book lovers, CNR Book Fair, took place with its 8th edition. Welcoming readers with the theme “Explore Your Dreams”, the fair hosted more than 300 public houses and over 550 brands. With more than 350 events, the exhibition arranged autograph days with over 650 authors.

Greatly anticipated by readers, Turkey’s foremost book fair, CNR Book Fair, was organized with the participation of renowned public houses, including Bilfen, Can, Ephesus, Kırmızı Beyaz, İşler, Turkuvaz, and Cumhuriyet. The invaluable and great cultural event in Istanbul and its surrounding region, CNR Book Fair welcomed thousands of book lovers on the 15 thousand square meter area.

This year’s motto: Explore Your Dreams

Leading the way of dreams for readers with each book they reach, the fair determined the theme “Explore Your Dreams” this year. Book lovers seized the chance to explore their dreams in the works of their favorite authors. Many prominent authors, including Pelin Batu, Ali Lidar, Zeynep Sahra, and Emrah Serbes, closely followed the autograph days and met the authors.

Welcoming hundreds of thousands of book lovers in 9 days

CNR Book Fair once again received great interest from book lovers this year. Displaying hundreds of thousands of books with different types from stories to novels, poetry, and exam preparation at Istanbul Expo Center, the fair was visited by 290 thousand book enthusiasts in all age groups in 9 days.

Organized by CNR Holding subsidiary, Pozitif Trade Fairs, with the support of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization), 7th International CNR Book Fair once again accomplished drawing attention from book lovers this year. More than 300 publishing houses and over 550 brands displayed millions of books at the fair, which united a wide range of books with different types from stories to novels, poetry, and exam preparation with readers. Receiving great interest from book enthusiasts at Istanbul Expo Center, the fair welcomed 290 thousand readers in all age groups in 9 days.

The exhibition area of 20 thousand square meters overflowed with visitors

One of the most significant cultural events in Istanbul and the nearby region, CNR Book Fair gathered readers and authors on the 20 thousand square meter area this year. Welcoming book enthusiasts with the theme “Discover” the fair became a cultural feast through signature days and conversations. More than 350 conversations, seminars, panels, and exhibitions took place during the fair and over 600 authors came together with readers at the signature day events.

Ahmet Ümit will stand out at the 7th International CNR Book Fair

One of the most important cultural events in Turkey, International CNR Book Fair united book lovers at stanbul Expo Center for the 7th time this year. Having hosted a variety of prominent guests for years, the fair welcomed the experienced author, Ahmet Ümit, as the guest of honor this year.

The creator of the character Chief Inspector Nevzat and the beloved author of crime fiction novels, Ahmet Ümit met his readers at the fair, which was visited by 290 thousand book lovers.

Having entered the “bestsellers” list near the top with his latest book, 'Aşkımız Eski Bir Roman', the experienced author signed his books and attended conversations during the fair, where he received great attention from his readers.

The fair, which was organized by CNR Holding subsidiary, Pozitif Trade Fairs, with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, ended on February 16.

The most prestigious cultural event of Turkey, 7th International CNR Book Fair is getting ready to bring together hundreds of publishing houses with tens of thousands of readers. Organized with the theme “Discover” this year, the fair will welcome the experienced author of crime fiction novels, Ahmet Ümit as the guest of honor this year.

Becoming the book fair of Turkey, CNR Book Fair will also host a book donation campaign this year. Books collected during the fair will be sent to village schools in need.

Reading 200 books a year is not a dream

Somebody once asked Warren Buffett about his secret to success. Buffett pointed to a stack of books and said: “Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will”.

Books give you the courage to travel. Books give you role models and heroes and meaning in a world where you have none. An average person spends 608 hours on social media and 1.642 hours with TV per year. We spend our 2.250 hours doing nothing at all. If we spend that time reading books, we would have finished more than one thousand books per year. According to that calculation, reading two hundred books per year does not seem impossible. However, most of us do not want to accept that we are addicted to social media or television. Making calculations is easy. The difficult part is to put it into effect. We all know the importance of reading and that we need to read more but we do not do it. However, there are some simple tips to make us start reading more.

Use environmental design

Since social media has been designed to creat addiction, we can say that staying out of social media is hard as quitting smoking cigarettes. If you want to read, make sure that you remove all distractions from your environment and make books as easy to access as possible. For example, you can upload e-book application on the main screen of your smartphone.

Read in every subject

Instead of focusing on a single subject, try to read little from everything. Read wherever you are available and remember Orhan Pamuk saying “I read a book one day and my whole life was changed”.
